Hello! My name is Chrystal Anderson

My love of photography started when I was a young girl. It began camping with my family and taking sunset pictures over Lake Shelbyville. From there it was fall colors and the sky. After my two beautiful girls were born I took lots and lots of pictures of them. That love turned into my business. I love capturing everyone's memories. My favorite is candid shots of children. Watching little ones play in nature. They are the ones when I am editing that make me smile. Sometimes they turn out to be my favorite ones. Kids being kids. Not posed but natural. That is my favorite!!

What to expect

 I am a natural light photographer for babies 6 months and up, children, families, seniors, maternity, engagement, couples, and landscape photography. I also photograph large extended families, 1st birthdays, milestones, generation and more. If you are not sure if I can just ask. I specialize in outdoor on location photography.  At this time I do not have a studio. By request I can do indoor sessions at Bird Haven Greenhouse in Joliet.
  • ​All of my photos will be natural candid shots or lightly posed positions. All pictures will be edited before they are put into an online gallery.  
  • Now offering outdoor lifestyle - unposed family or child(ren) sessions for a more fun and relaxed photography experience.
  • ALL SESSIONS CAN BE CUSTOMIZED TO FIT YOUR NEEDS. I welcome everyone's ideas. Send me pictures of what you like. You can also send me pins on Pinterest. You are also welcome to bring your own props.
  • Serving Joliet and surrounding areas
  • Accepted payments: Cash or check made out to Chrystal Anderson or Aurora Moon Photography and credit cards using Square.  Payment by Zelle or chase quick pay is also accepted.
  • All sessions include an online gallery, digital download & option to purchase prints or additional digital photos at an additional cost
  • For areas further than 20 miles (from Briggs and I-80) additional fees will apply depending on location
  • All galleries will be ready within 7-14 business days
  • Props available upon request

Please back up your photos. I will only keep them on file for a short time. Galleries will only be available for 6 months. Please be sure to place your order promptly and save your images.

Lifestyle approach

I want all my sessions to be memorable! I don't want anyone worried about their child not sitting and saying cheese or a dad/husband who doesn't like their picture taken. I want your session with me to be fun and relaxed. If your child doesn't want to sit for posed pictures here's what will happen, we will play! What? Play? Yes! lets run around, blow bubbles, give airplane rides, piggy back rides, play ring around the rosie, jump off logs, go for a walk, etc.. Is there a special blanket or teddy bear that your child won't let go of? Bring it along. Why? Because that special something is a part of your child. Not every photo needs to be smiling and saying cheese. Most of my favorite photos are the ones that show family interaction. Don't worry we will also get some posed photos. And if a lifestyle approach isn't for you, then we will do traditional photos. I am ok with that too.​

What to wear

​Now you have booked your session and you are wondering what to wear? I always recommend coordinating your clothes with your family members. Pick a few colors that go well together.
